What is Independent contractor

This is where a person is hired to work for a company but is not a member of staff. The company is a client rather than an employer. This means that the independent contractor will have to pay his or hers own tax and no tax is deducted from source.

This can be managed through a number of structures. A company , partnership or self employed.
