Business Terms and Jargon Explained

What is DDOS

A cybersecurity abbreviation for "Denial of service attack". This is when a website is bombarded with requests of service which hogs the bandwidth of the website so legitimate users can not get access to the website because the volume is above the websites threshold. This can sometimes happen when a website becomes too popular very quickly and the website has not anticipated the demand and not provided enough bandwidth for the website.
